About The
Music Sig
HVT&C Music SIG Officially Established
This is to let you know that HVT&C's new Music SIG
has been officially sanctioned by the board and is
officially under way.
Our first project is to put together a compilation CD for distribution
to visitors to Woodstock and worldwide. It is called "A
Taste of Woodstock". Copies will be made available in
local restaurants and gift stores, on our website, to music
and film industry people , as well as through our website.
Michael Veitch came up with this idea last year and Grammy award
winning Producer, Malcolm Cecil , made it happen.
We have Volume 1 and Volume 2, which have 18 local artists on
each CD and lots of great, original music, will be out by end
of December 2003.
We are now looking for submissions Volume 3. We welcome new
SIG members and sponsors (a sponsor page for this website is
currently "under construction") and value your contributions.
May peace prevail on earth,
Dan Schneider
Chair, HVTC (atlaw4you@aol.com)
A Note from Malcolm Cecil our SIG Chair:
The CD series is open to all who want to participate
- NO CENSORSHIP and NO SELECTION PROCESS.
Participants are invited to submit a FINISHED CD QUALITY TRACK
up to 5 minutes long (on CD, DAT or cassette). Each participant
will submit CONTACT INFORMATION and up to 200 words of promo
material that will be put in the CD booklet. (Contact info &
musician's credits are counted as part of the 200 words, as
is copyright information). Each participant will sign a release
form that confirms that they are the copyright owners of the
submitted material and agree to its release in this CD and on
our website, www.woodstocklive.com, in MP3
format.
Each participant for Volume 3 (and after) will contribute $
300 and in return will receive 50 of the finished CDs for their
own use. The money received will pay for professional pressing,
packaging, mastering and artwork (for the CD label, booklet
and tray card). Any money left over will go intothe Music SIG
kitty for future projects.
We really want all professional help to be local (preferably
Music SIG members) and if you are interested in providing these
services please contact me- WE DON'T WANT PRO BONO WORK - this
is a professional job and we want to have the same treatment
as any other client - including riding your ass to get it done
EXACTLY RIGHT and ON TIME!! I will be personally supervising
this process and he's a very finicky guy when it comes to this
kind of work - I feel we owe it to the participants to treat
this project just like any other major project I've ever been
involved with.
Michael Veitch has agreed to act as the recipient for the physical
materials for all submissions. His mailing address is :
Michael Veitch
PO Box 33 West Hurley NY 12491 .
His e-mail is mveitch@aol.com
Phone # (845) 679 1108
Checks should be made payable to "HVT&C". There
is also sponsorship opportunities for local businesses
(see: Dan Schneider, Esq. at :
atlaw4you@aol.com)
This should get our Music SIG off to a flying start. Let's get
this show on the road!
Peace,
Malcolm Cecil (mcecil@hvc.rr.com)
